Editing guidelines and resources
The 1 Trait Danger wiki does not have strict requirements for pages, but the guidelines and tools below help keep the wiki consistent. If you think that content you added doesn't meet these guidelines, don't worry: Just add the appropriate ambox or message the Wiki discussion board.
Guidelines[edit | edit source]
Scope[edit | edit source]
Content not meeting the below guidelines should be removed or marked as a canidate for deletion, and users consistently adding out-of-scope content or sharing private indormation will be banned
- All pages should be related to 1 Trait Danger: this is not a wiki for other projects from Andrew Katz and Will Toledo
- No sensitive information or unauthorized leaks may be added to the wiki
- While well-established fan content is included in the wiki, personal headcanons should stay in your user page
- Official information should be used over fan content whenever available
- Jokes or shitposting should generally be kept to a minimum in the body sections, and should never interfere with the actual page content
Formatting[edit | edit source]
Pages with content not meeting the below guidelines should be marked as stubs or low-quality pages and improved when possible
Grammatical formatting[edit | edit source]
- All pages should follow basic American English spelling rules and grammar
- If a page name or heading is not a title or name, only the first word should be capitalized
- The body of category pages should contain a brief description, linking to the catefory's main page if it exists, but not full sentences
Page formatting[edit | edit source]
- All complete pages should include a lead (the untitled summary at the top of the article), at least one body section, and a sources section with at least one source
- Unless an image is neccessary in the main body, the main image of an article should be placed in the lead, all other images should go to a separate gallery section in basic format
- Any pages for characters should include the associated infobox, complete with all known information
- Any pages for songs should include a summary, an embedded spotify link or music video, a lyric section with links to mentioned characters, and (optionally) a trivia section
Lore formatting[edit | edit source]
- Outside of the lead, "in-universe" content or lore and real-life information should be kept in separate sections
- When a full section is unnecessary, comments can be used to add real-life context to a lore-based page
- Recognized fanmade lore should always be kept in a separate section and explicitly refer to the fanmade source material
Sourcing[edit | edit source]
General sourcing[edit | edit source]
Articles with content not meeting the below guidelines should have template:citation needed added wherever relevant
- Citations can link to interviews, posts or messages from the 1 Trait Danger team, or another wiki page
- If it is unclear how a source is related, a note should be added
- Even with the proper citations, page text should not be copied directly from its source, except as a quote
- Screenshots can be uploaded to the wiki as a source, but only if a direct link is not available
- When citing a 1 Trait Danger song, the song's wiki page should always be used over a streaming link or lyric site
Art sourcing[edit | edit source]
Artwork not meeting the below guidelines will be removed
- When adding artwork, the artist must be credited whenever possible
- If an art piece is not a part of an official 1 Trait Danger release, the artist must be contacted for permission to share their work
